Good morning,
The reversing sensors have never worked on my car and I am now finally looking to get this fixed. My garage have advised that 2 of them are faulty, so my question is would it be advisable to replace all 4 whilst I am having this done? Also where would be a good place to buy them and how much should I expect to pay?
Thanks very much,
Tim.
Reversing sensors
Re: Reversing sensors
The usual OE parts suppliers such as Barretts, Manners and British Parts can supply these parts. The after-market can also supply non OE components. They are usually about a tenner a piece.
Fitting the sensors requires removal of bumper covers which can be tedious due to clip and screw corrosion. Once the cover is off the car, sensor replacement is quick and easy....sometimes existing sensors can be made to function again just by removing corrosion from the plugs and sockets. Bearing in mind the difficulties of cover removal, it might be worth replacing all four sensors. That is up to you. That said, why replace something that is not bust! These sensors either work or they don`t. Second time cover removal is easier than the first time! The sensors can be tested and replaced with the cover off the car so I`d wait to see what needs replacing until you have easy access.
