Changed Veneers

Hi All,
Picked up some interia veneers taken from a 98 Daimler for my 2000 Sovereign a few weeks ago.
After a clean up and a good going over with my polishing mop to remove some scratches it's all looking pretty good.
Grandson Rupert came over today and helped me with the final peices of the swap.

We took the door cards off and did the window switch veneers and ash trays.
So much easier when you have little fingers .
Looks great with all the Daimler Veneers.

I was all prepared to sand down and re-lacquer but a bit of time spent on the polishing wheel was all it needed.

Here are the rear door window switches and ashtray veneers.
This is after I cleaned them up.
They are in the car now.

Hi Andy,

Saw this a few days ago. Very nice.

I want to polish up the wood in my Daimler. Much of it is shiny but a few marks in places and a small area of delacquer on the driver's door trim. What technique & products did you use?

Hi DQ,
I just used a bench grinder with a soft mop attatched useing the polish that came with the mops.
Very similar to these:

I also used T-Cut if the veneers were scratched,just take it easy but the lacquer is quite thick and hard.
As for the delacquer issue you could try sanding the area down and reapplying the lacquer using a spray can applying many light coats.
Sorry for not being on the forum much lately but I've had a bad couple of years with family members passing away,so much stuff to sort out.
