Gap between windows and top of hood V12 Roadster

Postby domedan » Sat Jan 05, 2019 3:58 pm

Apologies if I'm missing something or being daft but with the hood up and the both the passenger and driver's doors closed and windows fully wound up, there is a gap (side to side, not top to bottom) of about 1cm between the hood and the top of the window, so that the windows are outside the hood and the rain will pour in. What am I doing wrong? It was my dad's car (passed away earlier this year) and so I'm not that familiar with this aspect of the car. The hood and frame were new/reconditioned and fitted by Aldridge around 10 years ago hence why I'm assuming it's me. The doors haven't been off in that time oir anything like that. I will try and upload a picture.

Cheers in advance.

Dominic

Looks like the fabric's contracting and pulling the frames back?
Especially since it's happening on both sides?

Take it back to Aldridge, their prices do cover advice on this sort of thing at least
Gone: '59 Mark I, '56 Mark VIIM, '59 Mark IX, '01 XJ8 Sovereign 4L LWB, '01 XJ8 Sport 3.2L, '01 XJ8 Exec 3.2L
Current: '03 Strange Rover L322
Completing re-trim: '73 Owen Sedanca 4.2L
Now being re-built: '61 Mark IX with 4.2L

Thanks Richard, yes, I'll give Aldridge a call.
