Some advice before I buy

New on here but I’ve had S type jag x2 and a XJ model in the past,I’ve been offered a XF 2012 3.0 Diesel luxury one owner, with 39000 Miles FSH it’s Red with cream interior which is my faverate colour combination. JUST WONDERED if there was anything else to look at apart from the obvious Log book service history.Does this model suffer any gremlins,weakness in any area where I need to look,I know my way around a car but as you know every model does come with cracks.Thanks for looking any advice would be greatly appreciated. Sounds like a nice car. At the mileage you quote I'd check the brake pads, front especially for material thickness and integrity (mine were falling to bits at 47k and there have been similar reports of this happening) and rears for thickness, tyres also at that mileage particularly wear caused by tracking error,( potholes) and of course same tyre make/pattern on each axle.
Generally the XF up to 80k miles is reliable. S-Type problems are quite often the same from then on.
