Hi all, I am a proud new owner of a 2007 XK, and very pleased with my purchase. My tyres look to have about 50% life left and so I am thinking about when I will have to replace them. This may sound like a dumb question, but, does one have to split the rims to replace the tyres?
While cleaning the wheels I noticed that each rim has at least three of the bolts not fully tightened, they were cross threaded.
Any ideas information for me re the above would be helpful.

Re: Senta 20 inch split rims
Hi,
Don't worry about changing tyres. The rims don't have to be split to replace tyres. They are changed conventionally.
However, it's odd that you have found loose bolts around the circumference of the rims. That may suggest the wheels have been refurbished previously and possibly rebuilt incorrectly. Since wheels are vital safety components, it would be sensible to have them inspected by a specialist wheel company. Mike.
