Sat Nav

[MJZ2325]

Hi Everyone,

It would appear that Jaguar haven't been bothered to produce a Sat Nav DVD for the X-Type since 2012. I have the 2012 version already and, to be honest, it's rubbish compared to my own screen-mount Sat Nav (Garmin Nuvi).

Because Sat Navs are basically PDAs, and I did once in the past just buy a completely different software system for some existing hardware, I was wondering if it is possible to get a non-Jaguar DVD of better Sat Nav software, to work with the Jaguar hardware, and has anyone tried this?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Kind regards,

Marcus.

Hi,

I have asked myself the same question and after searching on the Internet I have come to the conclusion that there is no further development of the map or software for the Denso unit. So I think it's a case to just accept it as it is, or get a third party product. Friends of mine that own with S-Class Mercedes are in the same boat, that after a few years the satnav makers stop to develop/make updated map discs.
