420 / S-Type front seats

Hi,
I've just bought a leather interior which was removed from an S-Type, I've fitted the rears no problem but now fitting the fronts the seat base seems to not sit correctly on the centre console hence the seat sits too high on one side? is there something I'm doing wrong? other than chopping the lower half off the seat side or shortening the centre console which obviously isn't right I'm a bit stuck as what to do, anyone done this before or can help?

The 420 seats are wider, as is the Mk2 centre console. I think the front mounting points for the 420 frames are in a different place, and the front of the frame has a cantilever arrangement so the front comes up as the seat is moved forward. How have you managed to mount the frame to the floor?
