unleaded fuel in XJ-SC V12
Moderators:davidr, BigCatXJS, dhdove
I have a 1986 XJ-SC 5.3 V12 with just under 50,000 original miles in the clock, looked after by Swallows in Rooksbridge. I've never asked the question about running it just on unleaded. I use Shell V-Power nitro and no lead additive. Is this best practice or should I be using lead additive either periodically or constantly?? With the old girl having made it this far in life, I don't want to run the risk of damaging the gorgeous V12 engine!

As BB says, all XJS's were built to run on unleaded fuel so nothing to worry about. I find that mine are happier with super unleaded but will run perfectly effectively on normal unleaded.
