Record price?

I see a 1978 LWB sovereign 4.2 with only 399 miles on the clock has just sold at CCA for an eye watering £36,520! Is this a record?

I think only an occasional V12 coupe has bettered that price for any series XJ. Mike.

I see it's coming up for re-sale with Peter Vardy Heritage with a price tag of £50,000. I don't know whether to laugh at the optimistic asking price or cry because I didn't buy it at the knock down auction figure of £36,520!!!
