Having only just passed the MOT because of frayed passenger seat belts I need to fix them. The ROM has the appropriate entry but I am stumped by how to 'lift off' the arm rests. I have tried a hefty pull but they stay firmly in place so before I destroy them with even more force
I thought I would ask the question - how to get them off. Any ideas?

Re: Passenger Quarter Panel Arm rest
An update.....Started working around the arm rest with a trim removal tool and found I could push it between the underside of the armrest and the seating on the body card thinking it might release any glue that might hold the arm rest in position. The started heaving - no movement. Did this for a while with the same result and then gently tried a strong metal lever. Increased lever pressure and heard what I thought was old glue parting - it wasn't! It was a wood screw with a large flat round washer screwed into the underside of the armrest from inside the body card! It eventually pulled through the hardboard the armrest sits on - as did the second one at the other end! So, for some reason, Jaguar decided to screw the armrest into position rather than use upholstery glue! The damage to the hardboard is under the armrest so won't be seen when I STICK them back into place. Beats dismantling the passenger compartment!

Brian,
I've been away for a while so apols that I didn't see this as I could have told you about the armrest screw.
I'd really suggest you mend the door card and reuse the screw attachment as I fear that, even with strong glue, you'll just pull off the armrest with repeated use.
Good luck
Paul

Thanks Paul - I seem to no longer get emails when there is a topic reply so I missed your response. However, they are now stuck back and I will see how it goes (don't often have passengers in the Cabriolet!).
