Hi folks.
I have a 2005 built XKR coupe.
The windscreen washers, particularly on the driver's side take ages before any water emerges from the jets.
I tried blowing air through the jets recently, and I could hear the air blowing through but the screen wash is still pretty pathetic.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you.
Andrew

Hi Andrew, I suggest you look inside the reservoir at the pump, which has a filter inline as this might be your problem - filter blocked or pump not operating fully / efficiently.

Hi Jim. Thank you, and nice to hear from you!
That's a good idea and one that I should have thought of!
Many thanks..

Hi.
If the filter didn't cure your problem...
...when I had a similar problem it turned out to be very gloopy fluid at the bottom of the reservoir. It's a pain to get to behind the wheel arch liner but once it had been flushed out and filled with fresh washer fluid everything was fine.

This is all very useful advice as I have the same issue with my X350.
Thanks gentlemen.

One further thought, is it the screen wash used? Some years ago I found Halfords brand screen wash did not sit well with the washer pumps that BMW used - it seemed to foam up in the pump and eventually kill them. If you have changed your screen wash brand in recent times that may be a contributing factor.
