Hi - just in introduce myself as the very happy new owner of a 2012 5.0 N/A. It’s a Japanese import so has a few quirky features e.g. Sat nav is in Japanese and despite getting a UK DVD for it, it still won’t work. The benefit of the import is that on most Japanese islands they don’t salt the roads in winter so the underside is really clean. Also I’m led to believe that they don’t yet use E10 fuel so it’s never been run on that.
I used to own an XK8 which essentially dissolved so I was keen not to go through that again!!
I love the car and don’t think I’ll ever tire of the 5.0 engine - so different in character to my old XK8.

Re: New X351 owner
Congratulations! They are great cars largely constructed of aluminium but don't be misled when it comes to corrosion. Here in the UK, the underbody steel components still need inspection and protection as do the areas where the aluminium and steel components meet, risking galvanic corrosion. Perhaps one of the regular importers of Japanese registered cars can advise you about the sat nav. The alternative of having to learn Japanese sounds a bit drastic!

Thanks Mike. Swallows put Lanoguard on the underside when I bought it so I plan to keep that topped up annually. Should keep the worst at bay.
