I hope you are all well.
I just thought i would introduce myself, as I have been a JEC member for the last year, but never posted on the forum.
My name is Stuart, and I am from West Yorkshire.
Whilst new to the forum, I am not so new to the XF's - having owned a few in the past.
Currently, I own a 2009 Jaguar XFR, which I use daily - got to get the most from the VED
Since buying the XFR in January 2023, from up in Scotland, I have had a few bits of preventative work carried out to her.
In August last year, I had the timing chains, guides and tensioners all changed, as well as the supercharger refurbished, as the coupler was clunking on shutdown. The Chains, although probably not required to be done, I did so for piece of mind.
I also had the spark plugs replaced, as well as an upper pulley upgrade. The wheels I have had refurbished, as they were looking a bit bad, as there were some curbing from the last owner.
she gets serviced every 6 months, again more for piece of mind than anything else.
Overall, I have had no issues with her at all - bought it at 87k mileage, and is currently just over 102k.
There is some small niggles, but nothing major. to name but two - the alarm keeps being intermittently activated by the bonnet sensor, and the other is, I need to be almost on top of the car, for my keys to work (both keys have had new batteries).
However, overall, I love my motor, and go to a lot of meets and shows - hopefully I will get to meet some of you lovely people in the near future.
Best wishes
Stuart
