2007 jaguar xk Battery how to - please help

Hi

Hope someone can help - I have a ctek mxs 5.0 battery charger - what is the best way to charge my 2007 xk battery please ?

Can you do it through the boot passenger side vent or do I need to connect to battery

Hi, easiest way is to connect positive direct to battery and negative to the earth point that runs from battery to bodywork, then take the lead over boot lip, you can close the boot on this quite happily, then plug in externally. Obviously car needs to be under cover, preferably in a garage. make sure car is completely locked, so that the electrical systems all shut down.

Knowing how difficult it is to reach the battery, I'd suggest using the power stud in the boot and an earth is easier. Better still, add either a fly lead or wire a socket (as Jaguar did optionally) to the same points. Mike.

Hi Lee, the simplest access for your X-150 is via the remote connections in the boot, passenger side as you consider. Lift the boot floor and you will spot an earth stud sticking up towards the rear of the shell, you may need to scrape the clip across it to remove a little paint to ensure an earth. The positive is accessed through the passenger side vent, which once removed will reveal the heavy gauge cable that goes to the battery. Ease the rubber boot off the connector and slide it along the cable, fit the positive clip from your charger / conditioner and that should be you.

Of course, I was thinking X100 not X150…
