Jaguar Alpine Head unit - cant enter security code

Good Morning All,

My XJ40 came back from the garage last weekend. The battery was disconnected due to various tasks including welding and painting. Normally, it's a case of inputting the security code and retuning the radio presets. However, this time I can't input the code:

I've tried disconnecting the battery, reconnecting, then trying agaiin.
I've tried holding button 6 down whilst switching on the unit.
I've tried switching between valet mode and regular(?) mode.

Any ideas ? I miss having the radio and listening to my collection of CDs.

I've a feeling that you get locked out for a period of time if you've put the wrong code in too many times? Maybe try again tomorrow?

I thought similar so tried this morning, yesterday lunchtime, and last Sun. I will try tomorrow afternoon to be totally sure though.
