Rusty goes to Monaco

It’s that time of year again for another road trip, this year Monaco ! Rusty the £500 x300 is currently bomming down toward Reims on route to Monaco. Fingers crossed she holds together, pre trip prep included fitting a side exhausts that was sooo loud it had to be removed leaving no time to do anything else ! This year we have a friend “big Orange” the SVR F pace. Raising money for hope house childrens charity.

Some how she made it, 12 hours from Calais to Monaco in 30 degree heat. Some strange noises from drive train and overheating in Monaco traffic.

Eventful day yesterday, overheating in Monaco traffic, both fan fuses blown. Heading north today to Reims, another 9 hour slog.

Arrived Reims after another 9 hour drive. Fingers Rusty’s holds up for one more day to get home.

Got home safe and sound, besides blowing the fan fuses Rusty performed without fault. 2100 miles in four days averaged 22.5 miles per gallon. The 5ltr SVR F Pace did 26 miles per gallon !

You can’t have had much time in the places you travelled to? It would have been nice to have more time to enjoy the locations surely?

I did Hamburg and back to the U.K. in 6 days before. But I thought that was too rushed.

It was a rush but that’s almost part the adventure. It would be great to have at least a few more days. We did manage one full day and two nights in Monaco.
