Due to very slightly oversize tyres fitted to wire wheels by the previous owner the tyres just touch the track rod end on full lock. Just a couple of millimetres of spacing would obviate this problem. Would I encounter any problems if I fitted a spacer that separated the splined hub from the disc by a couple or so millimetres? My car is a 1961 3.8 Mk2 with overdrive and wire wheels.

Re: Front wheel spacers
I think I can reply to myself having looked at the drawings in the Jaguar Mk2 Service Manual. My plan will not work as the stub axle would need to be lengthened by the thickness of the spacer. I cannot see a way that the track on the front wheels can be widened or am I missing something? You can consider this question to be rhetorical!
