Thank you.

It’s going into the garage on Wednesday for the ABS issue and possibly new front discs/pads.

Discovered a mouse has damaged the bonnet insulation quite badly. Anyone have any thoughts as I can’t source a replacement? Fortunately it hasn’t chewed through anything else as far as we can tell as running sweetly.

Here are some pics following a detailed clean and wax.

Booked in to the Jag garage on Wednesday to look at the issue. Think we will also replace discs and pads.

In the meantime discovered a mouse has damaged the bonnet insulation and impossible to find a replacement. Does anyone have any thoughts on the best way forward?

Would love to clean the engine and bay but again not sure on best way to proceed. This is now the one area that needs cosmetic attention.

Rickmansworth,

I think sng Barratt sell a replacement bonnet insulation liner.

I'm not sure which garage the car is going to but make sure they fully understand the teves abs system. Report back here if you're not comfortable with their diagnosis of the problem.

Good luck

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the info. They may have an OEM version I’ve just discovered.

Apologies about the double posts had issues with my phone.

My Jag mechanic eats and breathes classic Jags hence having to wait for him to have a slot. He is also a trained Jag mechanic learning his trade on XJS’s. Fortunately he’s making way for me as he has maintained the car for last 5 years and knows I’m itching to get it out on the road.

Hopefully when back on the road would love to meet up with fellow owners. I’m in St Albans.

Update.

All ABS sensors fine and all ancillaries checked without issue. Now thought to be damage to wiring following the restoration to the rear end so under investigation.

New oil cooler fitted as old one was leaking plus new front discs and pads.

Good news then hopefully the wire damage can be isolated and found quite quickly. Good luck and the cars looks great.

ABS warning light traced back to cut wires when bodywork works were being undertaken.

ABS fully tested and working as it should be.

New pads, discs, tyres, full service and MOT.

Should be back with me next week.

Agreed insurance valuation increased to £20k.

New MOT only advisory was for slightly corroded coil coil springs all round.

These will be replaced in a months time as want to enjoy the car for the next month.

Drives like an absolute dream.

Must get the AC sorted as that V12 gives off some heat.

Huge difference with new front discs and pads.

Anyone know of a good company that will clean up the engine bay as it’s pretty grubby under the bonnet?
