i’ve just done my first piece of XJS repair work, new headlining and interior light, and it all works! To be honest i’m not going to take up professional vehicle restoration, but i’m really pleased. A 1992 4.0l manual, next servicing,i have a manual and some spanner’s,and if i get stuck i will be on this forum for help, i much prefer driving to fixing, but a great sense of satisfaction

Well done! I hope you've got a great sense of satisfaction from having a go and pulling it off.
Servicing of the 4.0 litre can be done with basic tools, care and common sense so have a go!
If your at all unsure come back to us here and we'll guide you through it.

Well done you, Theirs nothing better then doing something yourself and it actually works, the satisfaction I find is huge. I've always had a man do my work, then when times were tough I had a megane and the wipers packed up, I had to attack the job myself and fixed the wiper motor and greased the bearings and it worked like it was brand new.. I've done lots of work this year on my XJ and the satisfaction in doing something to the standard you want it done to is massive.
