GAZ shock absorbers

Hello, I have just bought GAZ adjustable shock absorbers for the front of my series 2 E-type. So far I have quickly jacked up the car and easily removed the old shockers. These could have been easily over 20 years old. I discovered that the top of the new shockers will be a very tight fit indeed and the bottom will not fit at all. The Gas shockers are from Barratts and have polyurethane bushes already fitted with a metal centre sleeve. The bolts that the bottom bushes slide onto are of a greater diameter than the sleeve in the shocker absorber. I have tried taking out the centre sleeve at the bottom of the shockers but leaves the bushes too loose. I am confident that I ordered the correct shockers. Is there an easy answer to this before I take any further unnecessary action.

Hello Martin,

I would suggest contacting Barratts in the first instance.

The second option is to have the sleeves machined to fit the bolts, I would image there is enough material to do that?
