Hello all….
Has anyone got any experiences with buying and fitting roof bars to an XE please?
Any sensible info would be welcome.
Cheers, Mac.

Re: Roof bars for XE
Hi
Yes i bought some generic roofbars to fit flush roof rails, work well. Less than half the price of Jaguar ones.

Update:
I bought a set of La Prealpina aluminium roof bars and finally got around to fitting them today.
A few observations on my part:
They’re OK – not fantastic but OK. They’re a generic set of bars with a bespoke set of brackets for an XE that clamp under the roof line.
They come in kit form and you assemble them yourself. You need to follow the multi-lingual instructions and diagrams carefully if you want to get it right first time.
They fit – just about. Fortunately, the front one fits reasonably well. The rear one you have to adjust as the supplied instructions specific to an XE are misleading, with the off-set count shown in the diagram for the brackets/bolts being incorrect. Even then, once fitted you need to be careful closing the rear doors. You need to take the strain on the roof bar to prevent it fouling on the door when closing – but it’s do-able and the bar is held tight in place with the doors closed.

Re: Roof bars for XE
Luckily, I find the folding rear seats a more convenient option.
