brake leak

I have a series 3 E type and was after some advice please.
The following is what I have got:-
1) It’s leaking brake fluid from the ‘cap’ of the reservoir by the servo.
2) I can find no other leaks anywhere.
3) The fluid level in the main reservoir is going down. A lot, say 25mm over 2 days.
4) The level in reservoir by servo is not going down.
5) So it appears what is happening is fluid is draining from the main reservoir and somehow coming out of the cap of the second reservoir by the servo.
I am thinking the servo unit is somehow broken and allowing this to happen. Any comments gratefully received before I swop servo.

Yes, I would agree that the servo is faulty. This type of bypass is possible when one of the servo seals fails, It needs a rebuild or replacement. Probably wise to do a rebuild or replace the brake master cylinder at the same time.

FWIW I've had good experience x2 from Contract Auto Engineering in Stourbridge (no connection)
They've done a set of calipers, master cylinder, and vacuum servo for my Mk IXs, and a master cylinder
for my XJ6 series 1. I did use BiggRed for the calipers on that car only because, in that instance, they were price competitive and faster delivery

Thanks both for the info, very grateful. And yes while doing it might as well do master cylinder as well. Thinking of stripping down first then decide on rebuild or new.
