Quite why manufacturers still insist on using steel for brake pipes, I'm not sure. We've all got an idea of course
My local olde style parts shop (becoming rare nowadays, one of only three remaining in southeast London) will make and terminate a copper replacement pipe from being given your old. £12 about each +VAT last time I asked.
Automec do a complete kit of all pipes (as featured on an episode of
Car SOS where Tim Shaw blagged a complete set for a car they were doing up betting the firm couldn't make up a complete kit in under an hour

)
I had a set from them for a Mk IX coupla years back. Then not too expensive
