My 240 has Clayton air conditioning and updated heating and an electric fan. For the last few years the temperature has rarely gone above 70 degrees but for the last couple of weeks has probably been around 80 degrees. Optimistically I’m assuming this may be partially due to the ambient temperature being around 30C.
Although regularly serviced I can’t recall when,or if, I’ve ever had the thermostat replaced so may do it anyhow. Does anyone know the part number for 240 thermostat as I understand there are several variants.

Re: Thermostat for 240
Peter, as you appreciate my 240 is not on the road so cannot help too much. However in my research when rebuilding the engine i understood that an 84degree or an 89 degree are recommended for the 240. When i have run mine up to temp my 84 opens what appears to be shortly after that but i assume it takes some time for the guage to react. She settles then to around 70 but as i have not had here on the road i am not sure how much use this info is.
Re: Thermostat for 240
Hello Peter/Doherto,
the value stamped on the thermostat is the temperature at which it opens, it is not as you would imagine the control temperature.
