Those closer to this board's admin than me have already lobbied for some form of clarity in uploading pix --

Re-size yours to a max of 600 pixels wide using either Paint or the photo software that came with your digital camera -- I use Arcsoft's Photobase 4.5 that came with mine as a CD ROM freebee
Save the resized pic with the same filename and add lo-res to it so you know which is which
This should give you something around the filesize of 122kb. It's the filesize that's the determining factor whether
your pic will be accepted -- but we don't yet know what that maximum file size is :P

Go to "Attachments" at the bottom of the board's editor, click on it, and you'll get another button "Add Files" which will bring up your File Upload dialogue box. Go to your ...lo-res.jpg file saved previously, double click on it and you'll
then be asked whether you want to place the pic inline. And for any caption you want to add

Place your cursor inside the editor box where you want your pic to go. And press the "place inline" box.
The editor will show "attachment file name..." in your editor box.

You can see whether your pic is alright for pasting from a small green tick by the side of its filename when you upload.

Or place an advert in the board's Classified's section. Which doesn't have such a restrictive policy as the forums AFAICR -- and then copy the URL for your advert into here -- a price, MOT details, number of previous keepers would be useful

Hope that helps?

I don't know whether you use the 'phone (like Iphone or other) to access this board.
If you use a PC then you'll have to transfer the pix from your 'phone to somewhere on
your PC that you can access easy.

I only have a mobile 'phone for handsfree via bluetooth when driving and out and about. So it's a sad phone (Motorola KZR1 remember the adverts: " 'ullo Moto"? ) But that still will take a pic even though not very good
and has no flash. Anyways, if I plug that into my PC via a USB cable I get the PC (running Windows XP sp.3) recognising it as an additional hard drive automatically. From there I can transfer any pix I've taken onto my
PC.

If you use a 'phone then I don't know what will come up on it when you go thru the "Attachments" button on this board. Similarly, I don't know whether your 'phone/device has a Paint or other photo editor program on it so that you can edit your pix down to 600 pixels wide.

I do know that the Classified's section is less restrictive than this board, but I haven't put my two for sale adverts
(both XJ8 -- one a Sport the other an Exec) on there since the last seperate JEC Classifieds site fell over and was never resurrected, instead another board was added to this site.

Must try it though, as the club's Jaguar Enthusiast magazine (widely read outside the membership) takes its classifieds from this site's Classified's board

Confirmed the classifieds' advert pix uploads do not have the same restrictions as we suffer here
But does seem to chop the ends of uploaded pix off :? But heck, it's good service nevertheless
