Front/Rear Parking Sensors Inoperative

Postby geeegs » Fri Mar 23, 2018 9:58 pm

On an 04 facelift 2.7D, parking sensors have stopped working all round.
When I first got her, they didn't work due to a front sensor not working, accompanied with the 5 sec long beep and red light in the overhead console. Replaced the sensor and then they worked intermittently. Then they packed up completely. No beep, no red light. Replaced the parking module with one sourced from ebay and still nothing. I tried cleaning the connections with contact cleaner, even sprayed the original board with it, but still nothing. 🤔 any ideas anyone?

Have you listened to all the individual sensors for clicking sound, all it takes is one faulty to knock out the rest.

Hello Folks
Have you checked the control module in the boot to the left of the spare wheel. My rear sensors stopped working 5 years ago, the fronts still work though. Going to take the rear bumper off this year as the car is now SORN with a defective brake booster and rear suspension bushes shot. MOT failure, now a "project" car.
Missed the bit about replacing the control module ,is the one you got from ebay matching numbers to the original . It's important that they are Mike will confirm this

Dave you don't need to remove the rear bumper to get at the sensors. Have a look at the appropriate post's on here.
