Simple one I suppose, my power roof has gone on a go slow, only when raising from dropped, it's fine the other way. Can someone point me in the direction of the pump, I understand it may be in the boot but before I go dragging it all out is that correct. Worked just fine in the summer, but tried it a couple of weeks ago to keep it moving only to find it slowed. Just want to check the fluid level.
Cheers

Re: power roof pump/motor
Hi Dave - I think the pump and reservoir is in the cub by hole where the rear passenger seat would be on a coupe. They moved it into the boot for the later 4 seat convertibles like mine.
It will be slower in this cold weather as the hood material is stiffer, the hydraulic oil will be thicker and everything has to work that but harder.
Is the roof mechanism OK? Are the hinges well lubricated? Is something getting in the way?

Re: power roof pump/motor
Hi David
That makes sense, the hydrolics and roof points you make, I light greased and oil the hinge points before she went indoors for the winter, although I'm pleased to say I have managed to get at least 20 miles in most weeks just to keep her ticking.I dropped the hood in the garage yesterday to double check for rubbing and catching and all was OK. Do you know the correct hydrolic fluid for the hood, I've been told it's the same as the one used on an XK8. I'll wait until it warms up a bit then try again.
