The nearside Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) on my 2011 facelift XF have stopped working.
The DRL performance has been intermittent for a few weeks.
Specifically, the DRLs would not illuminate when first powered up and put into Drive but did so if the ignition was switched off and on again.
Main Beam and Indicators are still working fine but if the whole light assembly has to be replaced by Jaguar it will cost over £1000!
Any thoughts on other root causes and/or potential solutions?
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Daytime Running Light fault
I doubt it will be a fault in the light assembly itself; unless Jaguar have gone bananas and made it "intelligent" with some sort of light level sensors within it, it 's just a light unit. It sounds to me like it may be a software bug (see my post "Strange lighting event" on the X350 forum). Have you tried a "hard reset" by disconnecting the battery for half an hour? on the X350 and similar age models this can cure all manner of strange problems. Note that if you do this procedure you may need to know the radio code beforehand, and also it could loose things like the gearbox adaptations which will have to be learned again as you drive.
