The deficiencies of the OEM temperature and oil pressure gauges are explained here and a module offered that converts both gauges to read accurately. Having fitted one I can recommend it for both ease of fitting, using the highly detailed fitting instructions, and quality of product. Both aspects are exceptional.

At around £96, it appears a very useful and reasonably priced kit. There is even one for my 2004 XJR! Its very tempting and makes good sense.

Space is very limited on a X350 so I imagine one would end up having to put the gauges in a dash top binnacle on the 350. One would also end up with two temp gauges as it is probably impossible to install the new temp gauge within the OE instrument cluster.

I wonder if you're mis-interpreting the set up Mike. The Jagwrangler module uses the original temperature and oil pressure gauges and feeds the temperature gauge with the 'uncensored' data from the ecu and the oil pressure gauge from a new pressure sensor that has to be teed into the oil pressure switch tapping.
For those models that don't have an oil pressure gauge as OEM, then only the temperature gauge conversion needs to be purchased.
No extra gauges required.

Most interesting and a useful heads up. Very appealing.

What I`ve always missed on S-type and X350 is a voltmeter, especially in the winter seasons. The make do one built into the car comprises dropping open the glove box and fuel cap when the battery is assaulted by a cold start the day after I`ve had heated screens, seats and headlight on full belt! Instant volt meter...battery terminal voltage decayed to around 12.3v. In other words, a half discharged battery. How I would love a decent set of gauges to replace the idiot lights!!
