HD6 to HD8 on 3.8 - worthwhile upgrade?

I've happened on a pair of HD8s plus manifold. For a 3.8 engine in standard tune, is it worth swapping out the HD6s? Has anyone done it to good effect? If so what needle did you use, and did you keep the AED or convert to a manual choke?

I don't think your notice much difference between the 6 and 8's !

Maybe not, although I'd hope for a bit more top end. But maybe worth it to get rid of the ASC.

Hello Chris,

that is something I intend to try on mine, although I was intending to install 9:1 pistons, a modified exhaust manifold and possibly hotter cams?

I would not be convinced you would notice any difference in normal use of the car. A well set up HD6 works well if properly balanced and operational.
