Parking sensor module location

Postby johnkershaw » Thu May 04, 2017 9:01 pm

Does anyone know where this is located?

Mine has definitely given up. I have looked in all the logical locations but cannot find it. My local mechanic tried to find it but can only say that he can see the wiring disappearing into the cabin. After that, no sign!

It could be next to the fuses in the rear seat section but it doesn't look like the right thing.

Any clues gratefully received!

Thanks

Try the base of the left hand A post. It will be there amongst a lot of other kit. Mike.

HI Mike

Tried there, but all I can find is the fuse box and the fan.

So I had another look behind the centre panel of the rear seats. Nothing there either, so I removed the central bolster between the seat bases. All I found there was the intrusion sensor and the GPS antenna.

I think it's probably hiding behind the seat backs but I haven't worked out, after a lot of pulling and muttering of expletives, how to remove them.

I'm afraid you will have to look harder at the base of the LH A pillar. The module is hidden there only visible after you peel back the carpet, side trim and sub woofer cover. The diagram below should help. Mike.

Fortunately, for now at least, they have suddenly started working again!

Hi

Finally got around to looking further around the bottom of the A1 pillar. I have taken off the trim and pulled back the carpet to reveal the area in the illustration and the attached pics are what I found. There's nothing there, that I can see, that looks like the module unless it's a lot smaller than I think or doesn't look like I think it does! (black box with serial number on it)

If I'm orienting myself correctly vis a vis your pics, I'd suggest that the module is slightly to the left of the area you have photographed. Mike.

John,

Unfortunately, the under dash area is quite crowded so it's not always easy to find components. I've never seen any references to alternative positions for the module. Mike.

Thanks Mike, the car is with Bob Bate at present for transmission oil change, but he tells me he is struggling to find the module as it is 'not where it should be'...
