Advice needed

Hi, I have just bought my first XK8 after loving them and wanting one for many years. I have a couple of things I could do with some advice on -
I obviously want to make sure the car is looked after well and wondered if anyone can recommend a reliable garage in the South Buckinghamshire area. I can obviously seek one out but recommendations are always valuable.
I also need to get a wind deflector fitted - any advice as to which are best or best avoided and again any advice on the best place to get these fitted...
And finally..the batteries in the key have almost ran out, I've read a lot online that changing the batteries means reprogramming the key - is this correct?

Congrats on your most excellent choice of motor vehicle!! I can only help with one question: The battery can be changed in the fob without needing to reprogram. Battery is a 3V Lithium cell CR2032.

Garage recommendations are best sought at a regional meeting. Members will often be more willing to talk openly face to face than by putting fingers to the keyboard. Alternatively, try a call to your nearest regional organiser whose details will be listed in the magazine. Mike.

Most of the wind deflectors available seem to work well, although some are more aesthetically pleasing than others. If you buy second hand, ensure you get all the brackets etc. Mike.

Be aware there are two wind deflector options. If you do not have the pre drilled holes behind each front seats you will have a choice of two types.

First type you have to drill holes in the side leather behind the front seats, around the speaker. Remove the rear seats and drill more holes. I will not explain exactly but it is quite involved.

The second type you have to remove two covers on the 'b' pillar. One side is pre-drilled for a bracket the other side you have to drill a couple of holes. Ok I know that probably does not help much but thought you should be aware of the options.

By coincidence I have ordered the second type and it should be with me with the next couple of days. If you wish me to do a 'how to' all you need do is ask.
