I award you the JEC VC for valantry under extreme gun fire, determination and little thought for your own safety in the persuite of erradication of Eric the Excessive Electron. What a reasult! Seriously good and worthy of a good article in the magazine, David.
Short of time this evening myself to research R7 but no doubt you are ahead of me in the fight against a new dark age of impending ignorance.....sometimes though, some of these relays are not connected to anything if the car has a spec which didn`t make use of the relay.
Nice one, David. You get a cigar.

Re: Battery drain over 2/3 days
Hello Mike
I read somewhere ages ago a link to Fault Codes can you point me in the right direction. I have fault code B1265
showing on my OBD tool (just got it an iSoft i630) and after all the messing about I've done I expected loads of fault codes to come up.
So I cleared them all except this one won't clear, methinks the origin of the dastardly drain culprit. It says cooling system motor open
circuit.
Dave.

Re: Battery drain over 2/3 days
B1265 is an odd one, Dave. This link gives some info.
https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... KzYX6z7qMw
Hopefully you have a 930i not the 630i that you mentioned.
These units will only clear a fault code if the problem has been solved. Otherwise it will keep repeating until the issue has been fixed. As with all fault codes, the unit will give a pointer towards the fault. In other words just because the unit may point to a sensor issue, there might be a short, plug or socket resistance hot spot or may be a broken cable that is within faulting posibilities.
Some of thes more obscure B,C ou U type faults can sometime clear if the car is locked up and left over night. I had a C2303 air compressor code which I couldn`t shift with either Torque Pro or Carsoft gear. Leaving the care alone ober-night cleared the issue but I was lucky.
B1265 needs some further investigation. Just type "B1265 Jaguar" into your browser. As with many other fault codes, there appears to be quite a bit of info around on the problem. Some of the experiences of the posters on the various sites might give you some idea of how now to progress.

Re: Battery drain over 2/3 days
Hello Mike
Bingo, the link you sent was very helpful and yes I have a vehicle specific i930.
The fault code B1265 refers to the Cool Air Bye-pass Actuator. This apparently was removed in vehicles after VIN N10330
(mine is N42472) and a software patch, subsequently, wasn't applied to remove the Open Circuit annunciation trigger in the CCM.
I assume this fault code will trigger confusing the issue if the DCCV solenoids short out as it is prone to do and burn out the CCM in the process as I am acutely aware of a couple of years ago. I am becoming convinced, slowly, that the Verdigris in R7 was the culprit. Both R7 and R8 are associated with the Air Con CCM.

Re: Battery drain over 2/3 days
Hello Folks
Well its 5 days since I cleaned up the receptor for relays R7 and R8 and the car is behaving itself. I have swopped the Fog Lights relay with R8, both the same relays, assuming the fog light relay has been used much less than R8. Got to be very careful filling the washer bottle in future.

Re: Battery drain over 2/3 days
That sounds like a very good result, Dave. Nice one.
How about an article for the magazine, please? Images as separate attachments and text in a Word 97-2003 .doc format. Copy by email direct to Nigel. I`m happy to help with the text or any other queries. Drop me a mail or give me a call.
Excellent piece of fault finding in the time honored manner.

Hello Mike
Perhaps I could but I'm not entirely convinced yet, I've been misled with this car in the past ref Torque Convertor behaving like a misfire so i'd like to give it a bit more time. I'll let you know.
