The clock in the centre of the dashboard is running very slow. I have another one on order. How do you take the clock out, could anyone help please? Thanks Steve
Re: Clock not keeping time.
Hi Steve,
Interior trim and fittings...one of my pet hates. Parts break so easily, don`t they?
The statement below drawn from an American internet site suggests the following action to get to the clock lamp. At that stage removal of the clock is probably the next stage on. The work needs a few plastic removal tools and I would imagine a fair degree of patience and manual dexterity. It does not sound a nice job.
"To replace the clock light you will have to first remove the centre console and then the dash wood trim, and cluster display...then the airbag wood trim. Then once this is removed you will have to remove the centre a/c vent.It is held by four screws on each corner...once its removed, useful to raise it and unplug the clock power plug...as you lift it up you will see the bulb access, its a small green bulb that is spring loaded by turning it counter clockwise.Remove it and install new bulb".
Some of the above procedure is covered in this Jaguar pdf download.https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... Gw&cad=rja
A bit more gen is shown in images on this link.https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j ... LovoFzL2_w
Not having to have the interior apart on my car yet, I can`t really advise further. Like most jobs, there is a learning curve and some special techniques to apply. May be the job is one to be entrusted to a good experienced independent Jaguar operator. Please let us know how you progress with this job. If you do this work yourself, please take some pictures and may be consider writing an article on the subject for the magazine. I`m happy to assist with the written copy and generally help with getting images and words to press.
