series 3 3.4 exhaust manifold heat shield

Hi
1985 3.4 series 3 exhaust manifold heatshield.
Does anybody know the thread sizes of the 2 fixing bolts please? the rear most one is considerably bigger than the other........
Where might I be able to buy them please?

This might be a red herring but I guess there's a chance that they are the same as the ones on the 4.2 engine fitted to the DS420. If they are, then they are still available from Jaguar. The prices are £0.40 and £6.15 which perhaps explains the differences in sizes!

Clive - one of the best things I ever bought was a thread repair kit like this below.

Not only can it be used to clean up threads it is also very valuable for trying against threads to see what size they are. Mine has UNF, UNC and metric sizes. About £33 on eBay and an excellent investment!

AFAIK, the bolts go into helicoil inserts rather than threads cut in the manifold. So if you see some, don't assume the manifold's been repaired in the past; they came like that. Or at least, my '81 4.2 engine did.
