Snetterton VSCC race event

Postby NATONEIL » Fri Jan 30, 2015 3:22 pm

Sunday 27th sees the annual running of the VSCC event at Snetterton. 5 Suffolk SS100s and one original made it there in 2014 lets see if we can do better this year. Check out the circuit website because they have their offer on again for owners of classic cars.

Thanks Neil, that's great news. The free entry bit isn't easy to find, so here's the blurb from the Snetterton website:

ATTENTION CLASSIC AND VINTAGE CAR OWNERS
The Vintage Sports-Car Club made their first foray to Norfolk in 2012, with a superbly-received event on the 2 mile Snetterton '200' circuit. With plenty more with a period theme to see and do at the venue why not become part of the show by bringing your classic/vintage car along!
For participating, you will receive 2 free entry tickets (children under 13 go free) plus exclusive access to the display parking area inside the venue. (please note that for the tickets to be valid you must arrive in the display vehicle)
To register for your free tickets in advance, please email us at snetterton.vscc@msv.com. Please include your name, what car you would like to bring, registration number plus a mailing address for tickets to be delivered.

Roy

Chaps,
Congrats to Robin for getting an award at yesterday's Classics by the Lake. This follows on from my win last year, the SS100's are doing a great job keeping the Cobra replicas at bay !!
I will 'mail you all later this month re. Snetterton.

Chaps,
I assume that no one has had even the courtesy of a reply to our e-mails? I have just been looking at the site and there is now NO Reference to any freebies or invite to bring your cars.
I think the only option now is to pay at the gate as, after you have paid for the 'phone call then the "one off charge" then the postage it's not worth it. With the weather being as it has we may be rained out.

Reg,

I've given up waiting for MSV and bought a ticket from the VSCC.

Otherwise, tickets are £15 plus p+p online or £19 on the day at the gate:

Hope to see you there,

Roy

Thanks for that, I think that's the way to go. Now lets hope for a dry day for a change.

Should the weather be good we should be there. Unfortunately MSV do not make the pricing of their advanced tickets worthwhile. £15 plus a couple of quid postage which is spent rather than an extra £2 each extra full price which you will not spend if it is raining. Fingers crossed for Sunshine, the last 2 Sundays have been good. 240 miles driven yesterday getting to and from and driving the Sherwood restorations classic tour.

Neil,
You were lucky, we went to an event in GT Yarmouth which, amongst other things, was promoting the "Bloodhound" land speed record car. Just after lunch it started raining and it has only just stopped. Only one day sailing last week.
I agree about the tickets, we will wait to see what the weather looks like.

At present the longish range weather forecast seems to indicate that the weather will be kind for the run to Snetterton next Sunday. I aim to arrive at about 10am; the same as last time. We should also see a member of the JDC called Tony who saw our cars last year and provided that he can get his 3.8 started he intends to bring it along.

See you Sunday
