wow ,

what a great turnout today ,

i think i counted 11 peeps in 8 cars ?

well done to the boys in the french registered XJS ( but they didn't come that far today , lol )

and a warm welcome to the lads that came to experience the club and its banter, as one of them wants to get into Jags , so thanks also goes to David for giving him such a detailed view of his car, and a test drive 8)

i would like to thank everyone who has made the effort this year to attend these informal breakfast meetings at Kemble airfield , it has been great fun to meet the ' regulars' and those that have popped along just the once so far, but hopefully will attend again as time allows in the future

i think this format works well for those that want/need to get the Cats out for a run, and this seems to fit the bill for the time being , being totally informal , come and go as you want and it doesn't take a full bite out of the weekend to do so

finally , NO DECEMBER MEETING this year, it would be the day after boxing day , and the majority decided to skip this one and meet up again in January , on the last Saturday

thanks again to everyone who attended, and the magazine for the great writeup ,
Have a great Christmas and catch you next year

Yes, it was a good turn out and a nice bunch of people as always. I for one have always enjoyed these meet ups with like minded people and I think your new role as leader of the pack suits you well. lol looking forward to 2015 meet ups and finally Merry Christmas Happy New Year to you all.

Nice to meet up again and had a whizzo 80 mile round trip due to excellent weather and hardly any traffic.
Fuel tank showing still full when I got home so very economical for a V12 and only running at 2000 rpm at xxx mph so barely ticking over: I think I need to pull the instrument panel out again!
I'm glad there isn't a meeting in December as I can't afford to keep going: thanks to David I came away with a set of rear shocks and DB7 springs so the wallet took a battering again.
Have a happy festive season and a fabulous New Year.

We need a similar meet further North, and a fabulous venue is available at the Oil Can Cafe in Hepworth. Let's give it a try. See their website and you will be tempted.

Paul ,

looks like you need to get the ball rolling for the start of next year ,

the format works well , and you only need 4 or so peeps for the first meeting, and it can grow from there

The cafe tables are amongst the car collection and the whole room is filled with memorabilia . For the ladies there are 'shops' selling period dresses, so an ideal place to stock up ready for Goodwood etc. Loads of parking so short of nothing.

Will speak to Nigel T and perhaps get a note put in the mag., But please put an entry in here if interested and I will get something arranged.

Hi Paul,
I agree with you and BB, we need more and more of these informal meets throughout the UK and beyond. Helps take the simplicity back to meeting up with people who share the same interests, ie cars (Jaguars).

It may be worth speaking to Steve Howard (PopsJag), he is not a million miles away from you and is looking to arrange something near Chester. Im not saying dont do anything at the venue you have highlighted, I think it might be a good idea to both speak to NT and get something in the Forum pages and help each other get some traffic.

Two good venues, should be able to get something going.

And lastly dont be put off, BB had some small numbers first off, but its growing. Im hoping to get to one early part of next year before my calendar gets too full again.

Good luck and keep it going BB.

Haa haa,
It is indeed matey.

Current diary:

January: Better halfs B'Day (No talk of cars allowed)
February: Anfield (Not that we are doing so good, but already booked)
March: Restoration Show
April: I might be able to make this one!! :)

April does fall in line with the Lexus being used less and the Jag coming back on the road.

See you in April.

Don't worry James
Pistonheads meets there on the Sunday, which started all of this off, (then the XK8 Club went......and I think have left?)
A more eclectic mix of cars with PH too
They even allow Silver Arrow owners to park in the line-up!

i don't know what your getting at Tony ?

XK8 owners club didn't like us turning up to ' their ' meetings, and stopped inviting us ,

so i decided to try and get JEC members along to a JEC orientated gathering, as openly detailed in this thread, and any Jag enthusiast is welcome, even you in your Mercedes

we have had Mercs, Astons and even a Range Rover this past weekend,,,,,as long as they like Jags.....

if PH is also going on Sundays , then you are spoilt for choice,

Hi BB,
Really sorry I didn't make the Kemble Saturday meet, sounds like you had a good turnout.
As the big man said " I shall be back".

I'm afraid the Micro Wave caused a bit of a problem, but only 18 to go - thank goodness.

Hi BB,
I may have to bring the Japanese version of luxury (Lexus) up in April if my X300 doesnt fly through its MOT.

As you say BB, just good to meet up with fellow JEC members.

Errrr I wasn't getting at anything :?

My attempt at self deprecating humour and a leg pull of James seems to have backfired, sorry did you think I was having a dig?
