been busy today........

Postby Brakebuster » Sat Aug 02, 2014 5:12 pm

decided the X-Type needed a little TLC , as i have accumulated a few issues

first of all , the windscreen washers didn't work , but the pump was running, a quick disassemble of the washers them selves, clean out and prime the system , and voila , clean windscreen again

then onto the reverse sensors, just getting a beep on ignition turnover , had a rear bumper repair a few months back , and thought it might be something to do with that, found both outboard sensors had a broken wire going to the plug, crimped them back together, weatherproofed , and voila , beep beep beep when going backwards

the passenger door rubbing strip had decided to come unglued, tried several things in the past, but decided today to take off the inner panel , and put a stainless self tapping screw into the trim from inside the door , voila , no more flappy flappy door trim

then the headlight on the passenger side had decided not to come out to play , you need the hands of a thin thing with thin hands , not like mine, but some swearing later, and a new lamp , voila , can now see in the dark ( well almost )

and then a trip to ProTyre for 4 brand new Pirelli P7 tyres ( not bad for £275 all in )
voila.....erm,,,,,,,voila

That is a good price for tyres. I'll look and see if they have an outlet near me for Gisela's S-Type.

Hi All

I have been using P7's for the past year and a half and have found them to be much quieter and longer lasting than the P6000 that were Original Equipment. Good price too I thought at £154.00 a pair.

Cheers, Steve
