local Mark 2 mechanics (Norwich)

[jimbo59]

Hi all

I'm looking for anyone in the Norwich area who works on mark 2s' to give my car a bit of a health check. There are a few issues that are beyond me and the usual resident mate.
Any suggestions most gratefully received.

Hello Jamie,
Nice to see another Jaguar owner from Norwich on the site. Have you tried the two specialists which are non franchised, there is one on the Sweetbriar Ind. estate and another in Sprowston.
Alternately, perhaps a chat to other Area 33 members might prove to be of some help.
Sorry, the only MK2 chap I know is not in the club and I have a Suffolk SS100 which probably won't be of any help.

Hi Reg

Thanks for your reply and suggestions. I will contact the Norfolk rep of the JEC and see if he has any ideas. I guess in my naive way I still expect there to be some wizened old eighty year old who just happened to serve an apprenticeship at the jaguar factory in the sixties...who just happens to live in Norwich...and just happens to charge five pounds an hour!
Thanks again Reg

I think Reg means Spixworth, not Sprowston. J-Cat on the Sweet Briar Industrial Estate have looked after my X-type for a few years, but I don't know if they are experienced with the XK engine.

If you're looking for electronic diagnostic tuning, you might try Clive Attowe on Salhouse Road. He knows Mark 2s and did a good job on mine.
