After replacing the battery on my 2.5L Xtype recently I accidentally entered the wrong code into the radio and no matter what I do I can't get back to the blank screen to enter the correct code. The message on the screen just says "please wait"
I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but the screen still says "please wait"
Any help would be appreciated

Re: Audio
from memory
if the wrong code is entered you have to wait 15 mins, then if entered wrong again its 30 mins, and a third time its 24 hours , though i may well be wrong about the amounts
this does not change if the battery is removed,
so wait until its ready to enter the correct code, and all will be well

as a sub-note, i write the stereo code on the battery , as who has heard of a stereo being knicked from one of our cars ??

Re: Audio
Just as an aside to this if you ever forget your code try this. Press and hold FFWD - A.MEM - PTY together when radio switched on. I bought a genuine CD player for mine from a breakers to replace the radio cassette and don't even know the code but this always works for me.

Re: Audio
Good morning, not sure if I am posting on the correct page as this is my first time on the forum, looking to find the location of what I would call the Inline fuse for the Audio unit for a 1995 XJ6 , don’t want to remove anything until I can find out.
The car in question has been in long term storage and the audio was working, removed battery to replace as well as charge battery and since then the audio unit will not operate, checked all other fuses so I assume an inline fuse must lurk somewhere, no display on the head unit.
Kind regards Alister Scott

Re: Audio
hi and welcome
unfortunately you are in the wrong forum , as this is predominantly for the X-Type, you need the XJ forum ( your car is an X300 )
however, not to worry
I am pretty sure the inline fuse will be behind the head unit in the dash , some trim and the stereo will need to be removed to gain access to this, the stereo usually has two supplies, one for the permanent memory and security , and the other an ignition feed to let it know when the car is running , so it turns on , I suspect the permanent feed supply is interrupted
hope this helps
