XFR-S

Postby raysearles » Mon Sep 30, 2013 8:41 pm

Just been reading the Top gear review of the XFR-S on a plane whilst travelling for work.

Looks like a real hoot and the ultimate XF to take on the M5, AMG Blacks, RS's etc etc

Working on the basis of 70-80% depreciation on the 80k asking price I reckon it could be about 9 years before I could afford to buy one - that's works out to having to save about £7 per day, so no chocolate, no café lattes, and no beer - is it worth it??

Opinions XF owners please.....

None XF owner here.

But I like your calculations, £7 a day, I might have to start cycling to work to save the money.....no wait... damn, I do already.

How else to save £7 a day?

It really does look one heck of a car, as you say, it is the ultimate XF.

Firstly, forget about the "S" bit and save yourself about £10,000 in your calculation by buying a 5,0L XFR. Currently running a 2011 Factory Black Pack, and it is awesome. If you fit a Spires etc. rear system to boost the exhaust sound then be prepared to be amazed. Save, save, save, because it is worth it!!!

Excellent idea - that gets it down to about £4 per day ...

So the beer is safe,..........for now! But the lattes etc will still have to go

Any one else with any other ideas??

There is one obvious suggestion that would let us all enjoy our cars much more, but for my own safety I am not going to mention it.

Lets just say, you could probably still enjoy the latte's and chocolate, and still afford it sooner.

Better half's!!

I know the cars I could be enjoying, the lattes (well Black coffees for me), beer and chocolate would all stay too!!

I'm going to get some flak now.

James - you're so right!
I've heard it said that the definition of a successful man is one who can earn money faster than his wife and daughters can spend it. I have been deeply unsuccessful by this measure!
