:D Good Morning Neil,

I am just sitting here quietly recovering from seeing the Stones in Hyde Park last night. I never thought that them or me would still be around to do a repeat of the last event in '69 when I still had hair!

My car is Jaguar Indigo Blue with matching wheels, grey leather, alloy dash and black steering wheel. I haven't got a camera, and if I did I wouldn't know how to put photos on the net, so I just enjoy looking at the real thing.

I have some photos on my e-mail site that people have sent me but I don't think this site has a private message feature so we can't readily swap e-mail addresses ( unless you can advise me differently? )

Your car looks really good and with this wonderful weather I expect you are out giving it a good airing. By the by, a little bird tells me that next years Jaguar weekend is going to be in our part of the country so that should be interesting.
Keep having fun,

Reg

Reg,

There is a messaging capability on this Bulletin Board. Just select the small 'PM' logo at the bottom of any of Neil's posts to send him a message.

Hi Reg,

Nice to meet you at Prescott. Shame you didn't bring your Suffolk, but it did take me quite a while to manoeuvre out of that field!
Fortunately the drive back to London was dry, so I left the screen down. :D

My car is the black one in the Misc Photo Gallery.

Hello Roy,

Thanks for your reply, I thought it might have been you as I remembered seeing your car in the gallery. The reason I didn't bring the SS was that one of our party was travelling up on the Thursday in his XK120, another had broken his Bugatti Type 44 so was using an X-Type ( in it's working clothes, a Mondeo ) a further chap was going in his Volvo so I took my Beetle as it is easier to chuck all the gear for a 4 day break in the back.

We stayed in Pardon Farm, right on the circuit so it was very easy to get too and fro. We also had a couple of invites to BBQs on the camp site which ensured we were well fed and watered.
It was good to chat about our cars and I hope our paths will cross again at some event.

Roy,

I almost forgot, I watched your efforts in trying to get of the field from the comfort of Bonhams enclosure whilst enjoying the free beer and hog roast.

Reg,

I've been told that even the commentators were giving their opinions of how I should get out of Ettore's Field!

Roy,
You are right, people around us were intently watching to see who you would hit first! Many comments were made about the correct way to approach the problem ranging from " Give it lots of wellie" to " I would leave it and go for a beer"

I have to say the final effort looked really good.

Reg,

I was getting plenty of advice.

Now I need to remove several pounds of grass from inside the rear wheelarches!

Helllo Roy,
On a different tack from grass under the wheel arch, have you ever looked at how/where a water valve for the heater could be fitted.
Mine is just a simple tap under the bonnet which is a bit of a pain as it means the heater is always on or always off. I would like to mod. this before the onset of winter as 'er indoors does like a bit of warmth!

Hi Reg,

You could fit a cable-operated valve, if you can find the right pipe diameter and somewhere to fit it.
Something like this - Cable Operated Water Valve - Push for Off:
http://www.holden.co.uk/displayproduct. ... de=080.626
Cable for operating Water Valve:
http://www.holden.co.uk/displayproduct. ... de=080.549

I find the heater doesn't radiate much warmth unless the blower is on. Even then, it's never going to be very effective on a car as open as an SS100.

Buy her a warm coat.

Hello Roy,

Thanks for your help, I will look into this for the winter fettling season. Went out with the local crew last night and had a great run though the beautiful Norfolk lanes. WE had 2 XK150s, 2 E-Types, 2 XK8s, 2 XJ-S and a couple of saloons? ( not very good with saloons post S1 XJ6 !!! ).

Regards,
Reg
