What do you need to reprogramme my door module

Iwant tobe able to program a used door module to my s-type,what do I need, apart from a laptop. I would also like to customise my alarm. Can this only be done by a dealer or is there any software & leads that can be obtained by owners?

Hi Tony,

There is software on the market to do this - but it is very costly, and often - cheap copies.
If this is all you are looking to do, i would look at finding an independant in your area who has either Jaguar IDS or Autologic software. This is an easy 15/20 minute job with the right software. We use Autoligic here which make sthese kinds of jobs very easy.
It is worth noting that Snap On tools have recently bought the rights to Jaguar software too - so more general garages are likely to have diagnostics equipment soon. The program is a flash card add on to the scanners that Snap on supply to many general mechanics.
