Jaguar Mk1 Dash Centre Section

Postby Car-Nut » Fri Dec 02, 2011 5:17 pm

I have recently bought what was listed as a Mk1 Dash centre section

On the switch legend there is a switch for left and right fuel tanks.

This deffinately isnt a Mk10 420G section as the dash piece is slightly
shorter when compared…….

Hi

I think what you have is the dash centre section for an S-Type or 420, both these cars had dual fuel tanks, where the Mk1 & Mk2 only had a single fuel tank. From memory it should be the third switch in from the left!

In fact, that looks NOTHING like a Mk1 centre dash section, as the speedo and rev counter were in the centre of the Mk1.
Have a look at the following picture to see what I mean.

Blurry picture of the centre section of my 1965 S-Type. It looks the same type as the one you have.

Changing the gear lever gaiter involves a far bit of taking apart....
