I wonder if anyone can help me.I am after a vented bonnet for my MK2 3.8. I was rather hoping to find a pressed bonnet as opposed to etype vents in a cut out,but either will do if the etype vents are well done (no filler/distortion.
can you help, the money (what little there is ) is burning a hole!
Thank you

Hi
In my view you would be beter off without "holes" in the bonnet, they will only let the rain in unless you build in deflectors, then what use are they!
I think if you pay attention to the whole cooling system and have that in first class condition, you will not have any cooling issues.
bye-o

Vented bonnet.
I realise that this is so....ool ate but..
I have just louvered my 3.4 with proper pressed vents, they look great and the heat dissipation is really amazing, the engine now runs cooler and the Kenlow does not cycle as much. To solve the standing rain problem I have fitted a stainless cover under the louvers, mounted on the underside of the bonnet on 1" spacers. Its clear of the engine and still allows free air flow over, arround and upwards out of the slots. Engine generated heat dissipates very well and rain (what little gets in) runs off the cover below and away, not hitting any vital electrical or mechanical parts.
Post is you want info on who can / cost etc.
best,
Ian.
