how do i convince my dad to ditch his merc and get an x350?

Hi guys.
My dad has a crappy '01 merc E240 estate. We're using my XKR '52 between us next week as his merc needs WELDING! I was hoping to convince him to ditch the merc and get another Jag (he had an XJ-SC in the early '90's) but I haven't been keeping an eye on the possible pitfalls the X350's might have. Could someone let me know what to keep an eye out for please?
He lives on the west coast of scotland, near a partially saltwater loch. the car won't have a garage and I kinda thought an ali body car would last a bit longer than this rubbish merc has.
Can anyone help, or am i in the wrong forum?

There is not yet a model Forum for X350 cars.
Owners should post to the Members BB in the meantime.
