I can understand about the comment re the forum content...i had a bit of a beef myself..........but one thing i keep on about is we have not got any copy for the mag from the forum for ages .........i have run out of things to go on about to make into items of interest ...im sure Nigel has too.
Dave Marks supplies topical information but not specifically for the 308 forum........so we in here are as bad as the powers that be within the JEC mag..........even the BB is getting slower each month even though i check it every day........so we all need a kick up the wotsit if we want a good lively forum........so come on guys give me stories , events ,tales of wonder,breakdowns,and even a few lies but give me something ......
who's going to Thorseby Hall? lets have a meet up and throw some ideas in the melting pot.......i will even give free autographs......Joe

Not being up to DIY jobs on my car, nor making any journeys of particular interest, I really can't contribute any articles to the magazine. My only suggestion is that some of the threads on the X308 forum are of interest, but often fizzle out without conclusion. An example of what I mean is that there was a recent exchange of posts started by someone who wanted to instal a telephone in his car. We don't know whether he succeeded because the outcome was never posted.

Would it not be worthwhile for members posting problems, requests for advice, etc on-line to be approached by the forum moderator to enquire what progress has been made and asked to write a short piece for the magazine? In many cases it would not be appropriate because the subject is too mundane or has already been flogged to death - but surely there must be some "unfinished topics" which could provide a source of worthwhile material for the magazine?

Mike this has always been one of my contentions to this as a backup for the topic and extra copy to try and build an item interesting enough to put into the mag.
However,the only way really is to keep the open invitation we have in place in here for any upgrade or outcome to any topic to be submitted by the member in question.
I posted in here many times for any items that are of interest or merely replies to the problems people get sorted within the forum as being needed to round off any projects or maintenance problems.
A lot of problems are sorted via this forum that we never get to know about after the problem has been sorted. The initial request for information it seems is easy enough to post, but after the problem has gone away the topic remains filed away.
If the coordinators seem to be at fault and your post is to have a go at them get the stories right before you post, some posters are really quick to reply with posts of that kind so why not use the skills to send some copy for the mag.
So if you have a problem that has been rectified by the information received in here let us know,if posting the outcome in here is not the way you like to go send me an email to... joejag40@ntlworld.com ......i will then try to use the information received to make an article for the magazine. ...........By the way this months magazine errors have nothing to do with the coordinators..........Joe
