Hi Twin £500 sounds about right. The spark plugs will bump the price up as they are nearly £12 each (thats £96 in just plugs)
Just remember for this price you are getting a jaguar trained technician servicing your vehicle who will be experienced with identifying any problems or potential issues you may run in to.
Certainly in my main dealership you are not just buying the physical service on your car but the personnel service and follow up to any future problems you may encounter, by this i mean dealerships are more likely to be sympethetic to other problems you experience if your a customer who entrusts them to carry out routine maintenance on their car not just fix the problems smaller garages cannot.

What jagtech says is correct - but it depends how deep your pockets are! The cheaper alternative is to see if there is a "Jag Specialist" in your area. These guys are usually Jag trained and have the diagnostic equipment and general know-how for which they charge considerably less than a main agent.
Have a look at the topic "Servicing" three up from the bottom of this Bulletin Board and you may even be lucky enough to find one listed in your area. If not, investigate for yourself. There is sure to be one not too far away - and you'll save a bomb!

i service my own cars,
two reasons , cost savings, and i know that i have done the job to my own requirements,
all major mechanical servicing can be done at home
engine oil,
oil filter
air filter
spark plugs
coolant flush
new coolant stat ( with new pump if required)
check for oil leaks etc to name a few
the only thing you get from having a garage service your car is the codes read , and or reset , and someone else get oily hands
so i save £400 each time i do it myself, as all these parts above would come to less than £100 ( and that includes a new pump )
but if it gives you peace of mind , go for it.....
BB
i forgot to add,
i would fully support main dealer servicing of a new car up to five or six years old, after that, there aint much point......just my thoughts
