Leather Colours?

Postby JDM » Sun May 30, 2010 9:29 pm

I recently got a scuff kit to touch up some seat wear which worked well however the wheel and dash are a darker colour.
Can anyone help id the colour or tell me how I can find out, the seats are cashmere.

JDM :)

Hi JDM

Have you had success with the steering wheel? If so, what stuff did you use?

My car has the same colour combination as yours and the wheel is showing dark grey through the leather where it's worn through.

It's the only thing letting the interior down so it would be nice to improve it.

Hi charlock ,
For best results , remove steering wheel and throughly clean and degrease the leather , spray thin layers of a leather dye such as scuffs away until you are happy with the colour and then finally mix the colour with a small amount of the gloss enhancer/ finish until you get the right sheen , job done  ,

Hope this helps ,

Hi Charlock,

Did my wheel similarly to Niks suggestion however didn't take it off as didn't want to disturb airbag etc.

Masked off woodwork cleaned and degreased then used kit from Gliptone to build up colour to original.
All worked out ok.

John :)

Thanks guys.

Had spotted Gliptone do kits that colour match. Good to hear it works OK.
