MODIFIED REAR LIGHT CLUSTERS ON 96-2000 XK8

HAS ANY BODY BEEN ABLE TO PUT LATER LIGHTS INTO THE REAR OF THE EARLIER XK MODELS AS I HAVE HEARD THERE IS QUITE A BIT OF WORK INVOLVED,ANY INFO ON THIS MODIFICATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

A few guys in the XKEC have done this. They advise that it was simple enough other than the fact that the new cluster is slightly deeper, so you need to cut out the back plate and then fashion up a new cover to hide the cluster in the boot. OK if you're DIY minded but not everyone would be comfortable taking an angle grinder to their car !

I am about to attempt this in the next week or so on my 1999 Convertible.

Racing Green cars carry out the conversion for £499, including VAT.

Had mine done, worth every penny

Was about to start this job today.Took the old unit out and measured up the new bracket when I saw how much needed to be cut out ! Got cold feet and arranged for a professional to do it next week.
